The Imperial Crown advises all persons intending to travel to Bir Tawil that the territory is remote, without water, roads, or services, and subject to extreme heat.
Bir Tawil can only be reached through the territory of Egypt or Sudan. Visitors must obtain every visa and permit those states require and must not enter restricted border zones without authorisation. Sudan has been at war since April 2023, and many governments advise against all travel there.
Visitors are asked to respect the Ababda and Bishari communities and all others who use the land, to leave no waste, and to plant no flags or markers. The Imperial Government grants no entry permits and does not yet issue visas. Travel is undertaken entirely at the traveller's own risk.
