Bir Tawil was no man's land. By its Declaration of Independence of October 21, 2026, the Sovereign Empire of Brendania claimed it as sovereign territory under His Imperial Majesty Brendan Smith I.

Objectives
The purpose of the Empire
The Empire’s stated ambition is to build on its founding declaration an enduring constitutional and civic order, with law, public records, competent administration, and a durable relationship with the people and land concerned.
The founding instruments give the Empire its identity, its territory, and its constitutional structure. Recognition, institutions, and the consent of those concerned are being built by peaceful means, and each milestone will be recorded in the Imperial Chronicle when it is reached.
